Latest PRL update - version?
My lastest PRL (SPRL) version shows: 10036 - Is this the latest one?

reminder - to check i500 phone info:

dial - ##786, then press the "OK" button

Appreciate letting me know the PRL version most folks are using

(I'm in a closeby NYC suburb)

I just updated 10036 is the latest. You can count on the dancing geeky chick to be up to date any day.

The benefit is being able to receive signals from new (primarily rural, I think) cell towers.

The how is to dial Sprint Service (*2) and request a PRL update. Once they flag your account, you call them again and the update should go automatically. You'll know it's happening if a recorded message asks you not to hang up, in order to let the update finish.

They told me it's for updating the info on the latest added partner's towers for ROAMING ONLY.

Yup - just PRL 10037.

Helpful hint: Be sure to tell Sprint Customer Service to "setup" your phone in their computer system to receive the update. So when you call back (*2 call), a recording will come on telling that an update for the phone will start.
