able to recieve unable to send mail

I had a Treo 600 with Eudora installed. I now have the i500. I've tried Eudora and Snapper. I can receive on both clients but am unable to send in either case. I have entered my SMTP settings exactly as they are on my desktop computer.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks

Your ISP's SMTP server may not allow you to send mail from outside their network, or you may have the wrong password.

Try using the mail.sprintpcs.com (I think that one is right) as your outgoing server, and using your vision User ID and password fo it, but make all the other settings (the pop server settings) match your desktop computer.

Actually smtp.sprintpcs.com , I can't remember if you also need to authenticate. If so, try "POP before SMTP", which means trying to fetch your email from pop.sprintpcs.com using your Vision account first, then you can SMTP to send your emails out. It may not be necessary, though...
