7 seconds to Screen Blanking

Just loaded programs into the unit and have not activated the phone yet.

When working within a screen, it keeps going BLANK after about 7 seconds.

Is there a problem with this phone......or is there a way to extended this time for the screen to be lite?

how dod you load the programs? did you just sync them from an old database or did you manually install them?

if the former, you may have installed something that is not compatible with the i5....

First I did the mistake of trying to load the old programs from the backup onto the unit with a different user name. Did not work. Did a hard rest.

After that I reinstalled from the disk with a new name, followed a change the name routine, and then loaded each program one at a time. Have not as yet tested the installed programs by running each. I will do that to see if there is something that does not work.

If the Palm program worked on the i300 is there any reason that it should not work as well on the i500?

First I loaded the program backup file with a new user name that did not work...........did a hard reset.

Then went throught the correct procedure of new name and did a sync. Did a Change of name routine. Loaded all the programs again.

Just looked a the Mark/Space MOBILEOFFICE-PALMOS group and find that it is not offered any more on his site. OOOOOOOOOOO.....will eliminate by delete each of these.

Is doing a delete enough.........or what othere steps do I need to do?

Preferences/PhonePrefs/Display/Backlight

Options are: 8, 15, 30 seconds or "Until Auto-Off"

Auto-Off shuts down the Palm side:

Preferences/General

Auto-off After: 30 secs, 1, 2, 3 minutes
