Of all the PQAs I have downloaded only the 10% seems to work.
Most of the PQAs in the web are from companies long time gone.
Anybody know if people is still working on them or is just considered a dead technology?
I think PQAs are quite usefull, specially since you can open them directly from the launcher and they are very fast and simple to use.
There are a few working PQAs that I like:
Moviefone
switchboard yellow pages or verizon superpages
lookWAYup (dictionary and thesaurus)
I have about 10 pqas and they all work. Most are from way back when I first got my 6035, so a few years. I would imagine as more and more smartphones have better browsers, faster connections you will see less of them.
I really love PQAs! They are so efficient, quick to download information, and lightweight. It is a fact though that they are going the way of the dodo, especially with OS5. This was another reason I came back to the I500 from the Treo 600, I missed my PQAs
Here's my list of PQAs (all of which work):
Ameritrade
Merriam Webster Dictionary
Directory Assistant
eBay
ESPN
In-N-Out Locator
LookWayUp
MapQuest
MovieFone
OAG Mobile
Travelocity
United
Weather
Yahoo

Originally posted by crogs571 I've tried it a few times and get nowhere. can't do the "my ebay" thing.
crogs571,
I just tried it and it flaked out on me but it worked after a few tries. Hit the "login" button again to retry. If the "waiting" sits there for too long, you will eventually get a time out message.
Keep in mind that this PQA is very old (at least a couple of years, it was written for Palm VII) and does not support the newer "My Ebay" features. It will only allow you to track items that you are selling and bidding. No "watch list", no "you've won", no "you did not win", no favorites, etc. Just selling and bidding items. I have bidded and won a few items with this PQA. Lately, somethings have changed that when you actually bid using the PQA, it will ask you to put in the ID and password again, thus make it very clumsy if you are trying to put in snipper bids.
I love PQAs! I wish they had a way so I could tell it my default zipcode.
Gary
I wish I had a way to find out my Zip Code when traveling. There has GOT to be a way to ask a tower what zip code it's in (it's okay if it's in the next town over).
Sorry, it wasn't so much that I want the zip code in general, as much as I want it related to the topic of the thread. I want to get it automatically put into my PQA apps. And when I'm traveling, I don't even necessarily know what town I'm in either.
This logitude latitude option on this page is great!!! All the astronomy programs I use need that stuff!
Originally posted by Chuck I obtained the American.pqa directly from the AA.com website and today it worked fine for the one flight I needed to get the arrival time.
Ouuu. I absolutely need this one. Can you please post a link? I can't seem to find it on the aa web site.
