I did a hard reset on my i500 and the screen is now stuck in setup with the tap the center of the target mode with the stylus. No matter how many times I keep tapping the center of the target it will not get out of this screen. I've tried several resets and hard resets and it keeps reverting back to this mode. I am not able to turn my phone on to make calls because of this. Any ideas?

try tapping several other places
on the screen... near but not on the target.

I tried testing it out on mine a bit, and couldn't break out of the digitizer setup either. I wonder if a soft reset (The pinhole at the bottom of the phone) would work? It breaks out of the digitizing set up on mine, but I don't know whether it would get you past that.

Yes already tried that tapping outside of the target . I've been tapping in the target out of the target anywhere on the screen. Just goes on forever.

I also tried a soft reset several times as well more hard resets but it just goes back to the tap screen. Same thing when I remove the battery it powers up to the tap screen test. I also left the battery off over night and still would power up to the tap screen test mode.
