Gone Dark and an offer

As some of you, I have gone to the 755p owing to an issue at work. I still very much miss the greatest little flip ever. There are stability issues with it, even with its f/w upgrade that never existed on the I500--be warned!

I sold one of my refurbs to a member of this special community (who has offered to stand as a reference for the perfection of the unit). I have two more, and for the right price would be willing to part with one complete (more than complete, lots of extras) refurb in original box, two batteries, etc. etc. I rather not do e-bay so PM me if you are interested--would like to keep things in Our Crowd.

I will keep visiting here but will miss the camaraderie and the good vibes that come from this forum vs. those at other un-named sites.

It has been almost a year now with the 755p and I still miss but not longer pine for the I500. Now that Sprint is killing BizConnect for POS, I also must use a (darkest of all) BLACKberry which (as I note elsewhere is generally lame).

I wonder how many of the old timers on this site are still around, where using the I500 or not??

Have a great Fourth!!

Moved on to the Centro although I still have my i500 as a backup. Still don't understand why someone can't do a flip phone with Palm OS anymore.

Well, BB, I am still a 500 user - even have spares - everyone else in the family has Centro and the new Instinct (or whatever it is called). My daughter has a 755 given by her company - but likes Centro better.

I keep on trucking - BTW stuck at Logan airport flying back to SF with the Wed. afternoon storm

Regards,

Steve

Thank goodness for SteveDrummer... I thought I was the last i500 user remaining. I've looked at both the Centro and the 755, and I really don't want either of them.

I have an extra i500 should anything happen to my main one, and they'll have to pry them from my cold, dead hands unless Apple someday decides to unlock the iPhone so as to permit replacement of SIM cards for foreign travel, and use of US networks other than ATT.

Even then, I'm not sure that the iPhone will ever have the variety of free and shareware software that is available for Palm.

Steve and Booklaw, great to hear from both of you. More than even the I500 I guess I miss Our Crowd. Treocentral simply does not have that je ne sais quoi--I never get a response to my lame jokes! (Speaking of lame, I still think the Blackberry is a poor excuse for a general purpose business device. Well, unlike Bush, it at least does one thing well--reading and sending e-mails.)

I thought I would miss the graffiti and, being a touch typer, would not be able to get speed on the keyboard. Turns out that was not a problem for me, but I do need the Treo's larger keys vs. the Centro.

While you sat in Logan, Steve, we were w/o power in our weekend home in Rockport MA. Next time you are in town do let me know. Trust you are safely back in firesville by now.

Again, happy Fourth to all.

BB

My i500 is still going strong!!! ...and I have 2 spares in the wings, just in case. I tried the HTC Touch last December but was missing calls and "hard buttons". I may have to try the HTC Diamond once it comes out.

The i550 that I had for a couple of weeks was a very cool phone...Sprint should have released this phone.

I want a Palm flip phone...graffiti is fine by me!!!

Just out of curiosity, why did you have the i550 only for a couple of weeks?

You guys ever try a Cingular 3125 (HTC Star Trek) ? Its a cool form factor (flip about like a RAZR, but runs WM/Smartphone). Its about the only real smart flipphone that has been released in the past few years, and even it has sorta died (its scheduled successor never saw the light of day, shades of the i550). Nevertheless it is an impressive package of technology in a thin flipphone. But not Palm...
