Ok, so looks like were going to do this group style for now.
So, to my other Founding Brothers and Sisters in the new Information world of the soon to be top of the line Smartphone that is the i500. Lets get proactive, put your thinking caps on and get ready to put together a "frequently asked questions" section.
At this point, i'm suggesting that we just start on one, with information that we "know" or think we "know" and we'll make a single, Locked, stickyed' thread to deal with what we know will be common issues. We'll edit the thread as new issues come out and new things come to light. All of us here now, are pioneer's for the i500 we know more than just about anyone else out there on it, and likley in the next few weeks we'll pick up some newbies.
SO, start posting your ideas for FAQ with answers, and as we start to get a good list, Marctronix

Here are a few off the top of my head as early in the morning as it is.
What mobile serivce providers will the Samsung I500 work on. At this time, SPRINT is the only provider selling the Samsung I500. There is a possibility that an I500 could be activated on Verizon but, to date, that has not occured. (6/03)
Why can't I use the Speakerphone while i am using the palm portions of the phone?
The Samsung I500 does not have a speakerphone option. The manual does mention a speakerphone, but this is believed to be a typographical error.
Can I hotsync Via the Internet?
Yes, the instructions for setting up hotsync over a vision connection can be found
here (how to Hotsync over Vision). Note-you must have a computer with a static IP or use sprint business connection.
How can I download Phone Ringers to my new Samsung I500?
At this time the i500 does not support custom or downloaded ringers. Hopefully one of our friendly technicians here like "the jake" or Scott will work on a "hack" to allow us to customise ringers.
Where is my SD slot? Isn't this the modern age of Palm?
The Samsung i500 does not have an expansion slot.
I read that the SPHI500 is palm os5, has 2 LCD's an SD slot and a Camera, how come mine does not have those features?

PHI500. the SGHI500 is in design at Samsung currently with all of the udpated features listed above. There is no known release date for this phone. Additionally, the phone has only been demonstrated in a GSM model, therefore it is not compatable with SPRINT service. If history is any indicator, this phone may make it to market in Q3 or Q4 of 2004.
