hey, PDAPhoneHome,
Please check the stats you list on your site for the Samsung I330...there may be some errors...this was discussed in prior threads here, but I think the I330 is a 33mhz Dragonball, not 66Mhz as you and some other sites list...also, it is definitely not using Palm OS 4.1...it is something like 3.5.2...

Thanks,
I've updated the main portal page and specs, based on the information provided here. I can still use help building the FAQ questions.... it's not hard at all, so if anyone is interested, please let me know. Or, if you have a single tip that you'd like to add... you can easily do that on the page.
Hey ... Great job on the skin creator ... I love the sight ... any idea when the phone skins will be working??? I'm assuming you'll have the template like you did for the graffitti skins .. once again .. thanks for the good work ...
Okay .. I must be stupid .. LOL .. I had no trouble figuring out the graffiti skins .. well .. Okay .. a little .. but for the life of me .. I'm not able to get a grasp on the phone skin .... I don't see any layers on the template??? is it me ... am I using the wrong template???? HELP!!!!!!
When you d/l a skin, you use the skin selector to apply it. Then you go in to the phone prefs and select display. Go to the drop dopwn menu and select "Custom Skin" then you should get your new phone button skins
I have made several graffiti skins and downloaded them and use them ...
I have downloaded a couple phone skins and use them too ...
What I'm having problems with ... is the making of the files you need to create new skins for the phone .. in the graffiti skin you simple add your picture the the background layer .. I don't see anything like that with the phone skin template???? although ... I don't get the phone skin template the same way I got the graffiti skin template .. if I could I think I would be able to figure it out ... I am an old dog .. and these are very new tricks ... hehehehe

Sorry -- I haven't built a version with layers yet. I don't have photoshop -- so hopefully someone who does can build a layered template for me, and I'll post it to the site. Basically, you need to build two 2 skins, one with the buttons off, one with them on -- and select then make the 'extra' buttons that the phone app sometimes flips. The size is 160x145 for each primary skin.
Any way to avoid that white line between the numberic buttons and Talk/Clr/Save? I thought about messing around with the images but if it's inherent to the OS...
Maybe... It is inherint in their phone app, yes. However, they don't call a redraw, so if I put in a bitmap larger than their bounding box, it *should* overwrite that area, without a problem... then again, it could crash the phone if they do something stupid. Right now, all my images are 'to spec' with their skin files. I thought about extending that myself... Hmm... I may try that. I'd need to modify the web site to grab an extra pixel on the bottom of the top buttons as well... You can't see that line unless you are like me, and never wanted 'buttons' just a cool image.
FWIW, I posted a layered photoshop version of the template! If anyone has photoshop and could see if it works, I'd really appreciate it. I created the image in Corel Photopaint, and saved as a PSD... so I'm not positive it will carry over correct, but I hope so.

Thanks! Glad you like the apps. The site's been keeping busy, and I've seen tons of really cool skins posted -- hopefully some equally phone skins come by soon!
Yes, thanks much Scott! I skin for Winamp3 and have an I330, and I've been eagerly waiting for the phone template to be uploaded since you released the graffiti one.
Don't forget, everyone, that Scott is accepting donations for all of his selfless work. I made one! Im sure that just a few dollars will help keep his site up.
