stop driving yourself crazy - just stop using the rubber. some may say that's not safe, but knowing how freq that thing would be lost, i've never used it and have never had any connector probs.

haven't used mine since the first day. Sometimes Sprint hgas extra antenna's and the like. Try asking them for one. They'd probably just give it to you.

should be safe...

none of the palms,, or nokia and nextel phones which all have similar ports have a rubber..

why should your i300 have a rubber?

free love and easy access.. doesn't get any better...

In all fairness to Kalel, he posted a duplicate thread and I merged the 2 thus both posts appear here.

I don't think he's THAT frustrated guys.

My rubber piece got lost within the first week - I also wondered if the connectors would collect dirt, etc....but I haven't had any problems. I am always syncing and charging, that the piece is more of a nuisance...so I wouldn't worry about not having it.

I am with you, pnilly...it took me reading several posts before I knew that the heck they were talking about.

Now I know....it is the rubber protector that you probably took off and discarded when you first opened your I300. It was over the metal port that connects your palm when it is in the hotsync cradle.....hell!...I just thought it was a shipping protector, I had no idea I should be keeping it...GO FIGURE!

Screen & Plug Cover

How can I get a new plug cover for where the charger goes (the little rubber piece that comes out at the bottom of the i300). Also I have noticed a faint white ring all the way around the display screen. What could this be from and how do I fix it? It is very noticable to me and bothers the look of the screen.

I had forgotten there even was a rubber plug on the phone until we had to replace the demo phone at work.

Oh and if your like everyother jerk in the world you can find a replacement rubber plug on the demo phone at retailers near you. Might as well just steal it. everyone else does.

dont worry about us were used to having it gone and when some one wants to buy the demo they b.... about it till their blue in the face.

HUFF.......

Sorry working retail wears on me some times.

The sync rubber cover....

I'm talking about that little rubber thing on the bottom of the phone. I've noticed that a lot of phones out there don't have a rubber cover for the charging/syncing part of the phone. For some reason, the i300 does. Why is that? I mean, its good that it covers the syncing device from harm, but it tends to get lost a lot. Who in here has lost that damn thing? I barely lost mine today, 1.5 months after I bought it. I knew it would happen sooner or later. How long did it take you guys to lose yours, assuming that you have indeed lost it.

Lost it? I threw it away.

I threw mine away the very first day. Who wants to muss with that? PDAs have had their sync contacts exposed contacts for years - I have absolutely no idea why Samsung felt that it needed to be covered (other than the fact that they cover every other location on the phone).
