If you get this, comcast should be able to give you a static ip (although they strongly discourage it). if they don't give you one, you may be able to force one. on my cable modem, i was able to find one by selecting an ip in the range i thought they were using.
btw, although a found static ip may work initially, there is a chance that it will be dupe'd by the dhcp in the future, which in that event you'll need to go find another one.
