Question... Alarm Reminders?

Am I missing something?

I set alarms for many of my appointments using the standard Datebook application that came with the I300. I typically set my alarms for 5 minutes prior to the appointment. I get my notification at 5 minutes prior to the appointment and then again 5 minutes later.

I want to completely disable this second notification. The preferences for the Datebook application allows you to modify the number of "reminders" you get from 1 to 10, but not 0. It also lets you modify the length of time before the next reminder 1 minute to 30 minutes, but not indefinite.

Am I missing anything that would completely disable the reminder while still allowing the original alarm?

Thanks.

I have used PDAApps VirbaLED Alert. It works well, however, in my experience it does not change the number of reminders generated, it simply converts them to vibrate and LED (instead of audible).

I am still interested in any other ideas for the standard Datebook.

Does ActionNames provide the functionality I am interest in? Or are you just suggesting I look into it as a potential solution?

Datebook 4 does it

Try Datebook4. It does exactly what you want and much, much more.

I am using ActionNames 5.1 pre-release - it is really good for placing alarms on address book entries - works very well; you can also alarm todo's and meetings (like Palm OS); the real power of this app is the ability to look at a history of calls, meetings, and todos - all stored for each name in your addressbook. Also, the split screen feature is really nice where you can see appointments on top and todos below. Another great feature is that when you begin to write a name in the contact field - it looks ahead and does autofill - really cool.

Big drawback right now is that you cannot get ActionNames to dial anything - you have to use the Palm datebook and hit the dial icon. ActionNames say they will solve it in the 5.1 release coming up.
