It just starts recieving a beam, help

My phone is all of a sudden flashing a screen to accept a IR beam. I pushed the reset button and that still did not fix it.

Any suggestions?

You reset the i300 and it still says its beaming? If so perform a cold reset by pressing the contrast button then the reset button then releasing the contrast button. Let us know.

There's likely something else nearby that's sending an IR beam. This doesn't have to be a palm... Check for:

1) another laptop computer

2) printer with an IR port

3) refrigerator (only if you're hungry, for now...:p )

4) another palm pilot

Another option is to disable receiving IR communications.

ah... funny post!

you can turn beam receive off so that wont happen without you wanting it to. it will also conserve some battery juice.

Good point - Not only does turning off save juice, but I've been in meetings where everyone's IR is trying to comm with one another - very annoying...

Most everyone else recently recently upgraded to the m505 - I tried the m505, then returned it and stayed with my V (imho, the m505 is not worth upgrading from a V). So, doesn't make too much sense for others to up to the i300 yet.... too bad for them!!!!
