My name is Kevin and I love my I300. Oh, wait, this isn't a support group.
Here is my problem: when someone in my address book calls from long distance, it comes up as they are calling from 1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx. So, as a result, their name does not come up. This is not a problem for those easily recognizable numbers, I've got a lot of phone numbers in my address book. If it is a local number, CID works fine.
It would seem that the easy solution is to go in and put a "1" in front of all of my long distance friends' / associates' numbers, but that would be a pain. Is there an obvious solution that I am missing?
I wonder if only the first X number of entries are checked for Caller ID. I ask because I have 4 or 5 numbers for my wife, and when she calls from her cell phone, the number shows up, area code and all, but the lookup from the address book doesn't work. Her cell phone is the 4th number I have listed for her.
Anyone else seen this? Or, is it in the manual, I missed it, and it's time for a flogging of some sort...
I use Outlook 98, so I just have my contacts listed Lname, Fname and I use (area) xxx-xxxx. When I am getting a local call, it comes up with the name and area code / number, if it is a number in my contact file.
