I just got a new laptop and it does not have an IR port. Have anyone used a serial to IR or USB to IR port sucessfully. I'm curiuos if anyone has used one of these devices to hotsync their i300. Haven't used an external IR transceiver on mine, but I am using the synch cable (on my Dell laptop) to avoid the cradle at all. Frankly, the cable is more portable than an external IR transceiver, anyway. If you don't have a serial port, there are lots of threads you can serach for about using a USB converter cable.

Of course, if you're a Mac user, I know absolutely nothin about what works....
