I must admit that I have found this site incredibly useful, and have loved participating. Although Brooks may object, why not have a little fun here? What are some of the best uses for yours?
Here are a few of mine:
1) Ear wax cleaner (with antenna, or stylus)
2) Star-Trek "Fazer" for when my kids misbehave
3) Pocket protector
4) A great place to stick gum during lunch
5) Facial grease collection device
6) add yours here....
I must agree its very helpful as a pocket flashlight.
It also comes in handy to fool other drivers into thinking i have GPS in my car, as I use a cell phone holder to prop it nicely in the car, plus with my windows tinted somewhat, no details can be made out except for the glowing LCD screen! its fun.
among other things in my car, i have a dvd player installed plus 6 inch tft color screen on my dash with a tuner in my system to get off air (and satellite) signals, so i always get looks from folks... especially the cops!

Yes, in the next month or so, I will be able to use my I300 to wirelessly program my VCR from anywhere in the world!
Well, it's actually a MS UltimateTV. I just found out about this latest feature - which rocks, in and of itself. Added to an I300, it's gonna be killer!
"Record from anywhere
During his keynote address, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates used a Microsoft® Windows® Powered Pocket PC [...heh heh, or an I300
perhaps?] and a wireless connection to illustrate how consumers
will be able to set up TV recordings by using the UltimateTV Web
site even when they aren't at home. The request is sent down via
satellite so it is nearly instantaneous. UltimateTV subscribers
would have the freedom to record a show they just found out about - even if they are stuck at the office, or a change in plans means they wouldn't be home in time."
bill gates is DE man!!! ive always wanted that feature to eb availabe!! now it seems its here! now all i need to do is get the ultimate TV... bye bye TiVO..

You've been able to do this for almost a year with ReplayTV... Go to MyReplayTV to see the login. It works, but the update is not immediate, since the ReplayTV box only calls in once a night. Thus, you can only update the recording schedule for shows on the next day (which limits its usefulness).
Maybe the MS version has a quicker update?

eclipse...nice car. VR4 GT3K, VERY nice. I had a 92 Mitsu Diamante until last year, I really miss it. it was quite possibly one of the best cars I've driven. As you can tell by my handle, I now drive a Nissan Corp. car! Miss the diamante...
I know this thread is dead, but I was moved to post.
Good call on the replay DANJB, I have one and didn't even think to use the I300 to log in.
Back to the original thread:
I think the best alternative use is as ammo in "cell phone whip out". You know what I'm talking about.....airport, dude in a nice suit, nice briefcase, whips out his tiny silver nokia and looks around to see who's looking......your turn, out with the I300 and watch his frown form.
i aint gonna lie.. i try to (very subtle) take my phone out wghen im around folks in the store or whatever.. the little college kid thats the cashier at best buy or whatever always looks and gasps at this nice little machine..
as my man said, shallow, but d@mn its fun!!!!! :p :o
