Thank you Curiosity. I have found that the phone is registered under Sprint. I dont know if that matters or has any significance with the unlock code. If so please let me know. Thanks again.

Where was the phone purchased, was it through eBAY or was it from TigerDirect.ca.
The instructions I gave you was the phone I purchased from Tigerdirect.ca and was unlocked for verizon. But if it is from eBAY (states) I do not have a clue what its unlocking code is. Check with KASO from this thread, he might be able to provide more insight than I would.

the unlock code should be 222222. just follow the instructions and you should be good to go.

The phone was purchased in the US and I have tried the 222222 and the 000000. Both have been unsuccessful. The only thing I get once I enter these unlock codes is an invalid code message. Now I notice that the Sprint Logo displays every time that the phone is initialized.

BZZZT... These mobiles were sold locked to SprintPCS. Would that change your procedure?

I dont think that the procedure would change in terms of unlocking but the code has to be different from the default codes that have been presented. If Sprint has a code that they use for their phones how can this be obtained? As is there any way of locating that unlock code with the ESN number? Just another reason to despise Sprint.

Analog or Digital

Hi Kaso and Curiosity,

My Samsung SPH i 300 is working with Bell but only in analog mode. Its not working in Digital mode. Due to this many functions are not operatable. I can not get caller id. All incoming calls are showing ' unavailable'.

If you guys have any idea , pls let me know.

hey samir, the only thing I can think for you to try is match your settings to mine. MY phone works in both but is continuously in Roam, which doesn't matter. here's what I got

IMSI MCC = 302
IMSI MNC = 37
CDMA ACCOLA = 6
CDMA Home SID = Yes
CDMA fSID = Yes
CDMA fNID = Yes
Home SID = 16420
NID = 16420

IMSI MCC = 302
IMSI MNC = 37
CDMA ACCOLA = 6
CDMA Home SID = Yes
CDMA fSID = Yes
CDMA fNID = Yes
Home SID = 16420
NID = 16420

Its been awhile since i've tried to play with my phone since it does what I want but the others that have been posting here might be able to provide some insight if they have found anything new.

Getting a i600 wokring in Canada

Kaso,

You seen to know a lot about getting this done.

I have an i600 from a verizon network. I am in Toronto.

I have the codes to unlock it. But the current Bell rep says it will only run in analog mode.

Reading some of your posts makes me think he is wrong. The i300 and the i600 are similar and thus should be able to run in digital mode.

Any thoughts on this before I move forward - it would be greatingly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
S.

Mine runs in both, but since its an older phone it goes into analog more often than I would expect. All I would suggest is that you copy down the original settings before they set it up, after they set it up and while you are playing with it. Thats what I did so I could go back. I had the option of going month per month. worst case is u pay for 1 month see how it goes and if it doesn't suit your needs, sell the palm or give to me
