For those of you who have an advantage agreement expired or about to expire, I wanted to pass along some information that I discovered while browsing the Sprint PCS newsgroups. I was able to lower my monthly plan cost by approximately $20 and increase my available minutes. You need to request a "retention" deal when calling the Sprint PCS phone number.
Beginning on my Aug. 20th billing cycle, I have:
$35.99
500 anytime (AT)
3000 NW @ 8pm
500 PCS to PCS min
1 yr contract
$5.00 WW with first 3 months free
$1.99 Web Messaging
$3.25 equipment replacement
No $40 credit though
My 20% discount (business plan) still applies
The only thing I lost over my $59.99 total digital connections plan is Voice Command.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
hmmmm.... what does that mean? They don't charge your minutes to call another Sprint customer? or they charge you outside of your minute allotment?.... or wut?? that's a helluva deal otherwise!!!! ...think I'll threaten to bail...lol
pcs to pcs minutes are minutes used only between pcs to pcs numbers. i.e. if you have those 600 minutes (thats the pcs to pcs plan) they will be deducted only when calling another pcs phone number.
fikes. RE: 8pm.. they dont 'officially' ofer that anymore, however, someone here has said they got a sprint rep to change their pla to 8pm when they were in retention.
hmm.. perhaps your right... i think i may have misunderstood the girl when i asked her.. could have sworn she said 600.... but ill take your word over hers anyday...
Think of the airtime in term of buckets. You have an anytime bucket of minutes 650 (500+150bonus); a SPCS to SPCS bucket of minutes 500; and a night and weekend bucket of minutes 3000 (they start at 8pm)... Depending on the time of the call and who the call is to or from, you will pull from one of these three buckets... There are other retention plans as well. I have the 35.99 as well as a $50 plan... includes 1300 (1000+300bonus) anytime minutes.... there is one for $75 (1800) anytime and $99 (2300 anytime)... these plans include 500 PCS to PCS and 3000 night and weekend... Hope this clears it up...
By no PCS to PCS, I mean that when I call other PCS phones, it is just regular minutes. I have no special plan for those minutes. But the overall plan (650, 3000, $35.99) more than makes up for that.
I got my plan back in february. I got 650 anytime, 500 pcs to pcs, $50 for a new phone (bought me a i300), one month free, and nights and weekend 3000 that start at 8pm. This for $35.99
I wanted first incoming minute free but couldnt pull it off.
The deals are different now. My friend only got 500 anytime, 500 pcs to pcs but no $50 or month free. N&W minutes start at 8pm.
Funny thing is that I got my g-friend the same deal as mine a few days before he tried to get his. This is like 2 weeks ago. I saw her bill and they charged her 39.99 when it was suposed to be $34.99. I'm calling in to complain about that. She's on the business plan so it's a dollar cheaper. I somehow found a guy who gets regular folks the business plans. She also got the 6100 for free with a 3 year contract.
These deals have been around for a long long time. BTW, the pcs to pcs minutes are used whenever YOU call another PCS or another PCS calls YOU. This also includes evenings and weekends. So, DO NOT CALL ANOTHER PCS number at night from your sprint phone. It'll use up the PCS to PCS minutes first. It sucks but what the hell.
Ciao.

ps. to reduce your bill call in about dropped call. They give your $credit instead of minutes. So it reduces your bill a lot if you do it regulary. I think it's like 30 cents everytime. Call twice a day, you save $18 a month
Robert, are the wireless web and voice command free for the entire life of the plan or just 3 months? I got the same deal as you with the exception I just noted. Thanks!
You can add the wireless web, you just have to be presistent. Hang up and call back if necessary. You can also get an extra 300 minutes added to your plan at no extra charge. Sprint simply enters in a special code to your account and its added. This is why some people post they got 1000 anytime while others post they got 1300 anytime. I was originally given the 1000 anytime but then called back the next day and the rep was more than willing to add the extra minutes to my plan at no additional charge (have to call the retention department though).
ive gotta keep the plan i have (the 10K minutes /month) because its the best one with 2k daytime. my finace` talks up over 85% of the daytime minutes/month... but thats normal for a lady...
