It is exciting to see all the upcoming phones coming out this year. I really like my I300 and will continue to buy smartphones going forward based on my experience. This is my view of what is coming in the land of 3G smartphones (CDMA, 1xRTT) and key decision factors. I have not decided on my Christmas present as of yet

Samsung: I330, BlueChip
Handspring: Treo 300
Kyocera: 7135

Best Color Screen: Kyocera (16 bit)
Smallest: BlueChip
Biggest: Kyocera (flip is nice, but I still believe it is the heaviest)
Most palm centric: I330
Most data centric: Treo 300 (because of keyboard)
Most phone centric: BlueChip
Most stuff: Kyocera (Phone, Palm, MP3, SDIO expansion)
Earliest available: Treo 300? August...
Latest available: BlueChip (my guess)

Where am I leaning? Kyocera
Why: I am totally converted to palm and phone combined. If I can get MP3 also, with that 16bit screen, I am hooked

Where does that leave the I330 for me?
I am disappointed that the I330 did not go for more features. If it had 16bit screen + SDIO expansion, I may have changed my mind. Just adding 3G, with what is coming out, looks a little lame.

And there are rumors of a Palm brand smartphone later this year, too, but I've not seen photos yet
