Lightbulb New phone and 3G info

I don't know if this info is old or new to the board, but I thought i would pass it along.

I just spoke with a sprint customer service rep on the phone who said all the reps were trained last week on 3G and she stated:

3G will launch Aug. 8 with the first wave of new phones available at the sprint store on that date. 3G service plans and prices will be available that date as well.

She did not know which specific phone models that will be, but referenced to the Samsung A500, N400, Merlin 550 ? , and something called Aircard.

I asked about the Bluechip - she said they mentioned it in the meeting, she thought it would be carried, but did not know a date.

I asked bout the Kyocera 7135 - she said it was mentioned as well, but was not in the 3G documentation she for launch yet.

Also, she said "push to talk" like the nextel phones work directly will launch soon after the 3G rollout

Hope this helps!<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

think of it as what nexthell has.. "direct connect" 2-way capability.

that alone will bury nexhell...

push talk

according to the sprint rep.. 'push talk' will be similar to the nextel phones... where you just push a button and talk directly to another sprint pcs phone... in walkie talkie fashion without making a call...

but the data does travel thru the network, not thru the air....the data jumps from cell tower to cell tower and doesn't travel thru the land line system like a traditional cell call... this makes it seem like a real time walkie talkie conversation...

hope this helps..
