Marty,
Sorry for the really late response on this question. I don't have a really good excuse, just traveling more and testing more devices than I can shake a stick at. It's getting harder and harder to find time to sleep! And the fact that I love the Jedi Outcast multiplayer options. hehe
To answer your question, honestly, I have no more information about the phone. So much time and effort is being put into launching the 3G network from the Sprint guys that they are not talking about anything else. I have used a Sprint demo version of the 7135, but it was so early into release that the graffiti was not functional, it would not connect to the 3G web, and the phone buttons were intermitent. Talk about a bad experiance! This phone was so big when opened that it reminded me of the Qualcomm PDQ phone. I was very disapointed. But like I said before, this was a very early pre-release phone. I can not vouch if it was in testing before I got it or if it came from Kyocera directly.

No sir. You will get a no buy guarantee from me with this device until I see what the final product turns out to be.
Now it is possible that they (sprint and/or kyocera) will load this phone will so many cool apps and features that they more than make up for the size and my earlier bias. This is entirely possible. But what is more likely is that the i330 and the 2032 will be the phones for me. I have used both of these also and they are amazing. The only things the i330 lacks is the amazing color screen and memory expansion ability. The 2032 has both, too bad it has wince for an OS.
Homer, I'm looking at the specs for the I300 and the 7135, and I'm seeing the following:
I300: 4.9" x 2.28" x .82", 6.0 ounces
7135: 3.97" x 2.43" x 1.17", 6.6 ounces
While yes, that is a good .35" thicker and .15" wider, it doesn't seem like that would be significantly different than the I300. Is it possible that the early version you saw was a larger version, or do those dimensions sound like what you saw?
By the way, the 6035 is 5.6 x 2.5 x .86, and 7.34 ounces. So yes, it's thicker than the 6035, but the 7135 is smaller in the other dimensions and it's lighter.
We'll see what it looks like when it comes out, but on paper, I think it looks awesome. I'll have to see how I like a flip-phone in a Palm powered unit, but features wise, it blows the I330 out of the water. (And it's not made by Samsung, which is a major plus.)
Another question to Homer or anyone else that has access to "the list"
Does anyone know if Sierra Wireless' AC550 is on the list of 3G devices to be announced to be supported? Sierra's website says that Sprint (exclusivly) will carry the PCMCIA card for 3G data access, but has had the "COMING SOON" banner tagged to it for quite some time now.
I just checked Sprint's web site and am amazed that 6 days away from the launch of 3G, there is no "official" news there. I'd be mad if I was not in the know and bought a phone (like the i300) today and 6 days later it was obsolete (I guess it has been obsolete for a while now).

Just like any other technology, when you buy it two days later it's obsolete or it goes on sale.
