I've searched fairly thoroughly for information on programming the I300, and I haven't found any.
*Is there* a method of manually programming the phone, and if so, how? I understand, of course, the need for the SPC, and that's not the issue... it's getting to the place where uses the unlock code!
I'm familiar with the process, in general. I've reprogrammed other phones from one carrier to another; it's just this one that I'm having trouble startin with.
I've searched many threads (I did searches for the obvious like "programming" and I visually scanned the entire posting history), but either I'm missing something or what I'm seeking isn't posted.
Let me give an example, using another Palm Phone -- the 6035.
1.First, you push 111111 to get into the manual programming screens.
2.Then you put in the SPC, if applicable, and then enter your SID, Phone number, etc...
3.Then you get the PRL right using OTA or flashing software.
I'm stuck on #1. *How* do I get to the place where I even need to enter the SPC and SID and number and etc...?
Thanks.
I thought that was what you needed. I posted that here a LONG time ago and haven't the slightest where. I'll try to find it for you. Perhaps one of your fellow members who has just recently activated might have the code. If you have a friend with one have them call Sprint and tell them they reset their 300 to factory condition and they need to reprogram the phone. Just make sure they write the code down.
What I've found odd is how unavailable this information is. I can easily get info on programming many other phones (including other Samsungs), but the I300 seems veiled in mystery.
We determined in an earlier discussion that there are at least 2 lock codes for each ESN. The only way to find these may be through Sprint. Someone posted an email address recently of someone claiming to know how to find any lock code. Anyone remember where?
I can give the answer to that question. Each phone has two UNIQUE codes that allow access. Just today, I unlocked a Motorola v60 whose code was 434000. This code is useless on any other phone... it's literally a one-in-a-million chance that they may happen to be the same.
The first code, which Sprint used when activating your phone, is the subsidy protection code. The second code, which Sprint will only give you if the first fails, is the master subsidy code. That second one is the ticket to unlocking the phone for good.
Again, these are unique codes on a per-phone basis.
umm.. bchoc.. if you would have ben on this board a while, you would have know that the info you just posted has already been posted here. a few of us are 6035 users and we figured this stuff out when folks wanted to get the 6035 over to verizon. but, its always good to refresh some other folks' memory...
Its good when new members explain these things as some of us older ones tend to shy from detailed explanation. Thanks for the thorough response bchoc. I was just messin' with you!
Hey, there... while I haven't been a member of this board long, I've been reading it on and off again for months (doing my research, ya' know).
I perused all 60 pages in search of the often-mentioned "Programming" thread, before I posted. Never did find it. Must've missed something.
None-the-less, there's still a lot of misconception about the SPC, and I still see a lot of people posting, asking for "the master code." So, I think a reminder could be in order?
