Check the Hotsync Setup Local tab and make sure the right serial port is selected.

IIRC = If I recall correctly.

Shroom- I think XP Home does have some issues with com port id. I had a similar issue with mine when I first installed the cradle. Sorry I don't hava magic bullet for ya cuz I have no idea what finally cleared it up. I just kept playing around with the port designation and installing & uninstalling the cradle & it finally worked. I also had a problem the first time I took the cradle on a trip & tried to reinstall it. It thought the cradle was still there & kept giving a "Com 1 is in use by another app" msg.. Again, I just kept reinstalling it on the port & finally it worked. Not much help I know but XP does have some issues there.

Talking Hello

It sinhronizing well on Win XP !

I cannot get it , what you talking about , ppl .

You do not need any special settings for XP ,

everything absolutely the same as for Win 2000 ,

or Win 2000 Server .

Still he did not exlain , what kind of windows XP he is trying

to sinchronize ,- XP Rro or Home Edition .

I use windows xp home and had a problem at first. The thing that fixed mine was uninstalling the software then reinstalling it and make sure it finds the right com port. Also leave the phone in the cradle the whole time I did it that way and it worked fine

I'm running XP-Pro, all updates, Hotsync 4.0, no problems syncing with serial or IR... I'd remove the Hotsync software, reinstall manually... don't use plug and play... i seem to remember having an issue until I manually installed. Also, don't use 3.X, download 4.0.X from palm, install and you should be good to go...

Syncing with windows XP

I tried searching for this, but it won't search if you have a two letter word (XP).

Has anyone had any problems syncing with Windows XP via the serial port? (How about the USB port? with the adaptor of course)

I thought I had read about some issues, but I can't find them. I'm planning to upgrade, but not if I can't sync my i300!!

Thanks for the input,
Gary

Yes it will work. I'm running windows xp and it works fine you may have to install the palm software a couple of times but it should work.
