(let alone with entourage X?)

You mean I just spent all this money on my new i300 and am bidding on a serial-USB adapter in vain? I have a beautiful grape iMac happily running OS X at home, and I was looking forward to synching my phone up as soon as I get the adapter. Are you saying Palm Desktop 4.0 will not synch with previous versions?!? That sounds weird...and awful.

Can anyone confirm this terrible twist of fate?

the sphi300 is only approved for PDT3.

The only version of OSX native PDT is 4.

This is not to say one can't kludge a partial solution, but it is not an easy, out of the box one if you are running OSX exclusively.

My further gripe is that i use Entourage X and there is no conduit for it.

Ask the other well informed members of this board...they can probably help.

Not sure if a followup is called for or if you guys just figured it out... however, I use my I300 with OS X and Palm Desktop 4.x daily and it works fine. I also use Now Up-To-Date and Contact as my PIM software, and the OS X versions of that also work well.

I do find I have to use a Palm USB/Serial dongle; I have tried several others and they were not reliable -- even if they worked once, they required an unplug-and-replug at a minimum, and sometimes a reboot to get the USB driver properly reset to handle the next synch request from the cradle. With the Palm dongle (part of the Mac connectivity kit, around $40 I think), it works flawlessly for me every time, using Mac OS X 10.1.5....

It's true that there isn't much in the way of mail synch capability except for the dutiful backup of the mail databases by the Palm software... I would love to see an Entourage client and I believe Micro$oft has promised one shortly.

Personally, I would like to see them upgrade Entourage so it can be a first-class Exchange client (a-la the "Classic" Outlook 2002 for Mac) before it will do me a lot of good, but that's probably another story.

Or, did I miss the nuance of the post?

MS Office X now has Entourage Conduit. Anyone use with i300?
Anyone synch with -anything- under OSX with i300?
