Thoughts - MacroPlay to manage radio?

Hi all...

I've been dinking around with MacroPlay (http://www.palmgear.com/software/sho...2&prodID=29076) in an attempt to find a way to power down the radio every single night and then power it up again in the AM. I figure it'll save me some battery for those nights when I forget and leave it on.

MacroPlay records screen taps (not button presses) into a Macro for a specific application - then you can schedule your macros to run at certain times. I thought it would be an easy implementation to have it grab the pull-down menu in the phone app, choose Options, and then choose Phone Off. But it doesn't work.

Finally, I think the problem occurred to me -- to "tap" the pull-down menu item in the phone application, that's in the expanded graffitti area. I bet MacroPlay is only watching the 160x160 area for taps.

Any creative thoughts for ways around this problem? It doesn't record button presses, so having it simply "press" the phone button for 2 seconds won't work.

Looks like it might be a useful application otherwise....

Doug:
Sorry I can't help w/your question, but after reading what you are trying to do, I thought I saw this as a functionality of the i300 already. I looked thru all the menus and setting, but could not find anthing to power the phone on/off based on a schedule. So, someone help me out here. Is this a feature of the 6035? (I am getting a little senile at 42). My 6035 is at my office and I am not, so I can not check, but I am sure I have seen this option before, just can't remember which phone. (Maybe it was that darn TP3000!)

I'm not sure either but this sounds like it may enable the 300 to autosync daily. What do you think Doug?

AutoSync, download email, etc.

Oh yeah, this thing should be able to trigger a hotsync for you every morning without too much difficulty. I'll give it a try tonight. You could also have it periodically download your email using your favorite email client. For example, every hour or two you could have it try to launch your mail app and download whatever is waiting on your POP account. It seems pretty flexible.
