I'm wondering if anyone has found, or is developing, a CallerID that will speak the callers name on the i300 as it rings.
My Sanyo 4500 could do this by comparing the incoming CallerID to the voice dials you have setup in the phone. When the person calls, the phone plays the voice dial phrase
ie: "Call from... Joe Work".
It would also say "Unknown Caller" is there was no ID.
It would say "Incoming Call" if there was an ID that had no voice dial associated with the number.
This was one of the most useful (and coolest) features because you did not need to look at the phone. You could also hear it from across the room or car.
the 6035 does not state the name of the caller, it just says "..incoming call, answer?.." whats so freakin' neat is that you say "yes" and bam! instant speakerphone convo!! ;0

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! I am hardly advertising for PDAapps. Altho it sounds like you have a personal beef with PDAapps, I personally believe that they have done a great job enhancing our beloved I300 and helped me solve any problems I have with any of their applications.
PDAapps...Jake....whomever!
I would just like to see this feature developed

yup........... I second that Kimberly............ I've had nothing but good experiences with PDAApps and their support for this board. Keep up the good work guys!!
Its not too loud, and it crashes my palm occasionally, but this is the quality of sound you'll get from the palm half of your i300. And no, you can't play it through the speaker phone, the speaker phone is the phone half, not the palm half.
Be careful if you play with the audio drivers, there are specific instructions on how to uninstall them. You'll certainly screw things up if you don't follow them and just go deleting things.
It should be pretty easy to use the sound driver to play a WAV file of your own recording when a caller comes in... I may decide to work on this sometime, but no promises. You'd have to compile your WAV files in a process similar to compiling skins, I imagine.
I'm not a big tech person, so I'm pretty sure I'm missing something, but, from the last post from jake.

Would we be able to put wav files of our own music in as ringers?

Ginkus- Palmgear has an app called HoHo I believe that allows you to do custom ringers/ sounds. I don't know how it works or if it will work on the I300 but it may be worth checkin out. Let us know if you do.....
lol......... no, it's an app for creating custom ringers and sounds. Like I said though - I haven't tried it, so I have no idea how or if it will work on the I300.

Okay, so has anyone actually looked at this? It has great reviews and best of all it is free. However, you are required to install one of several plug-ins, none being Samsung. Which one should I try?
I would love to give this a try.
Kimberly
