Question Special Codes (# or *)

Does anyone know of a place to find other special codes for the I300 like the ##786 for the total talk time? Interested in Debug mode to check signal level, etc. or any other cool things that special codes might do.

Thanks,

Brooose, dude!! You are the man!

Where did you find the codes? This is information that Samsung pleaded ignorance about and my Sprint PCS contacts just were clueless.

I am truely impressed. Do you have any other wonderful bits of information do you have that you might be willing to share?

Thanks again,

homer

The debug code I pleaded for on this forum for ages. (I love to sit and stare at that screen when I am in my work building because I lose signal all of the time and then you get to see the system searches....fascinating .....I am a huge geek.....)

Anyway, finally these numbers were posted here on this forum along with a clever pnemonic device to help you remember them. A number of other fun numbers have been posted elsewhere and the FCC docs contained some cool numbers for testing things.....

As Marc and others have said....use the codes with caution. I inadvertently put my phone into "test call" mode in the debug screen and it took a while to get it out. No harm done (no hard reset required) but it was a wake-up call.

find out usage on the i300

dial ##786
the screen will show you the usage of you phone in hrs of usage, as well as # of calls placed on the unit.

this is a good tracking device to see how much you use the phone, since there is no call meter log!

Did a little hacking on my own.. I did do a search for these here, couldn't find some of em, so here ya go..

USE THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

97#*7*980# -- SIO Mode

##2769737 (##BROWSER) -- Gateway setup (for inet?)

#907*9#0 -- Asks for lock code (unknown to me)

##786 (##SUM) -- Calls/Time lifetime totals and clear.

##523 -- Doesn't do anything for me, but it's a code of some type.

2539** (AKEY**) -- Puts up a block that says "-A Key-".. 20 digits not enough. Dunno.

6548#0*45680 -- "--TEST MODE--" VERY interesting. 3 digit command codes. 002 does a soft reset. 027 turns the red lamp on, 028 turns it off. MANY other codes.

870*70987*0 -- Test Calls. Service code: 040793 Lets you monitor the signal and place test calls like Markovs and loopbacks.

If anyone finds the lock code from the 3rd one above, post it. Also if anyone has a list of the 3 digit command codes for test mode, or wants to mess around on their own, post about it here..

Have fun

Boy, am I stupid. Or something like that. I was having SO MUCH FUN with these little codes. Until I RESET MY PHONE! Of course, that was actually fun too!

Anyhow, here is what you SHOULD NOT do (unless you want to spend 15 minutes on hold and 15 minutes on the line with customer care FIXING it all).

Key In: ##786
Press: ClearReset
Press: OK (to confirm)

However, while reactivating, I did get the code (and instructions) for fixing it if you DO do this:

Key In: #907*9#0
Enter Lock Code: 471840
Key In: 1 (to select menu 1)
Enter Your Phone Number and Hit Save
Hit Save Again

That should do it!

Hmm I wonder if that 471840 unlock code only works if the phone has had a full nuke reset. Or if it's set somehow per fone, maybe part of the serial number or something?

When I try that unlock code, it just says it's invalid and reboots the phone. Weird.. Thanks for doing some testing though

Yep, I had to do this when I did a swap of my original I300 (almost a year ago). The 471840 unlock code is only for a 'clean' phone; it doesn't work again once you've unlocked it...
