Well you guys might just have to bear with me on this one. But qyuck question. If you use the Blazer browser and you just go theu your ISP phone number and connect, does that used anything additional like extra airtime by using it? The reason why I'm asking is cause when I went to set up my account on the I300, you have to set it to wireless CDMA modem. Is that a modem that's built into the I300 or is it a modem somewhere out there on sprint's network that charges you to access it?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
Its built into the I300. It is a phone after all. I understand your concern and the answer is right under your nose. Any calls made from your I300 are charged for airtime at the very least. As long as you've paid the $5 a month for the wireless web you are all set. Sprint is offering 6 months free now so the fee is actually 2.50 a month. Hope that helps.
If your phone bill is outrageous call Sprint and explain the circumstances. Let them know how unclear you found the poilicy regarding WW minutes. If you handle it correctly you might get a decent credit to your account.
Like George Clooney said in "Out of Sight", "You'd be surprised at what you can get if you just ask for it nicely."

Sorry, this is incorrect. The modem is *not* in the phone, but rather lies at the Sprint switch. Regular Internet traffic is routed over Sprint's internal network to whatever destination your app requests (if it's a PQA, Sprint has some PQA gateways), or if you're using something like Eudora, your i300 establishes a direct connection to the remote server. (This is assuming you dial #WEB to log in)
If you are dialing out (ie, faxing, or dialing into a corp network), your call goes through some 3Com modems located at the Sprint switch. For those interested, it's called the CDMA Interworking Function (IWF or IWU).
Hey I finally called sprint and got my account corrected. Now I won't have to worry about paying that psychotic bill that I would have had showing my phone off to all my friends. By the way I never knew that the modem lies in the switch. I wonder what type of connection do they use? I think our phones only connect at 14.4. I wonder if it can be made to go any faster?
the structure is limited to 14.4 period. thats the nature of it.. thats one main reason why 3g is so hyped.. it can accomodate speeds UP TO 144kbs, but in reality when more users get connected, you can expect 40-80 as being more realistic "per user" speeds...
