Samsung will stay *very* competitive!
After all, Samsung was the first in a lot of important categories over the years, and has an extremely aggressive engineering team.
I view the i300 as the single best personal appliance on the market, and believe the i330 is just a steppingstone to a Treo-killer. Not that it needs killing - I looked at the display alongside my i300 and can never go back.
At Comdex, Samsung people talked about new modular phones. Want GPS? FM radio? Family Radio Service (FRS)? TV audio? Camera? Bluetooth? Wireless headset? Flashlight? yada yada -- all to be available as plug-ins to the basic phone. And a common interconnect means you can keep your accessories when you buy the next phone.
If you ever buy a PhoneRing, with holographic projection display and ThinkDial, it'll probably have Samsung's name on it.
