If Samsung waits till next year to release this phone, they'd better upgrade the camera. One of the new phones that's coming to the NCC DoCoMo network is a Sony camera phone with a 1.3 gigapixel camera.

This phone isnt targeted for photorgraphers on the go. It's been developed for the business user. Samsung is currently developing higher pixel CCD modules to be incorporated in their "regular" model phones in the future.

sgh-i500 is supposed to run palm os 5.2 which supports virtual graffiti. It does not require a dedicated, space-robbing graffiti area. You can just write on the main display, much like the 'Jot' program... Kewl, ain't it?

BTW... I've heard that you can use any CDMA phone (provided it is equipped with a SIM card) in any network provider, given that you can aquire a proper SIM card.
Then does anyone know if this new sgh-i500 (GSM phone) can be used in Verizon network by swapping a card or something?
Happy threadding...

Nope, no can do. In GSM, you can swap SIMs into most (not every, there are band restrictions here as well) GSM phones. CDMA has evolved to include something very similar to GSM SIM called RUIM, but currently only Chinese CDMA operators are using this.
So, there is no way to use GSM devices such as SGH-i500 with a CDMA network such as Verizon's. However, not to worry. Whatever that is good in SGH-i500 is sure to show in a CDMA version some time, anyway.

JOT is okay but not cheap. 'Graffiti Anywhere' by Thierry Escande (look it up in PalmGear) is a free solution you can use right now with i330 and i500s (as well as others).

Thanx for the info.
I guess the US consumers, once again, get cheated of our own right by those industry giants.
...How about the new sph-i500? Can that be tweaked to be used in Verizon network instead of Sprint? Just curious...

not sure, but, it seems that verizon accepts any cdma phone, ie. early adopters of the 7135 were able to activate on verizon, but sprint is "locked" to only thier phones.

Verizon can activate most CDMA phones but some phones like the Treo 300 that were specifically made for Sprint will not work on Verizon (at least the part that was designed for Vision will not work on Verizon).
