A few days ago I had to add an exchange account to my email settings, and now my battery only lasts 5 hours a day.

Battery Management

question. How old is your battery and is it the original that came with the phone or the optional High Capacity battery?

First tip would be;
Change outlook mobile send/receive settings from "As they arrive" to "every 15 or minutes"

You may also want to look at the settings for message downloading.
ie: Full message download, partial download or just the header.

If that wont satisfy you email need's and extend you battery runtime, your only other option is to go with the High capacity battery.

I was able to get about 8 to 12 hours out of the High Capacity battery with minimal phone use and outlook mobile checking every 15 minutes, screen set to 35% brightness and bluetooth turned off.

Hope this helps.

Original battery. Check every hour. I started disconnecting from internet in between, and that helped a lot.

I experience similar swings in battery life, but not quite as bad as you. I have S2U2 which helps a lot, but every once in a while my battery will be almost dead by 5pm where normally it is still about 50-60%. I don't know if it's a phone issue or a network issue though.

I do know that if you accidentally turn on the media player you have to manually kill it or it will drain the battery FAST even when idle. Just closing it doesn't shut it down. I've hit the shortcut button and not noticed it before and it is a battery hog.

Same usage.. Hymm, Has you location of operation changed? I can't remember the link but there is a layer for google maps that shows cell tower location.

I mention this because my house is in the middle of 3 towers and topographically I am down in a bowl.

When I am at home my phone constantly switches from tower to tower and that puts a major hurt on my battery life. If I leave my phone by a window on the second floor I get almost 25% longer run on a charge.

Not looking forward to returning to the USA and flipping back to CDMA mode.

Here in Europe on GSM my battery life is amazing.
