HELP! Need a copy of "pooutlook.exe" from a Saga

Alright, I figured out whats wrong with my phone (at least the first step). Previous problem was posted here.

I think that my copy of \WINDOWS\poutlook.exe is corrupted. That would explain why contacts won't load! Could someone email me a copy of their poutlook.exe from a saga? Preferably PRE upgrade, but I'll try anything at this point, so I'll certainly try a post upgrade copy!!

Please send to powderkeg500 ~a~t~ gmail ^d0t^ com !

There may be other problems, but I think this MIGHT be the one I need to fix to get at my contacts and back em up so I can hard reset.

THANKS GUYS!

Rather than doing this, I'd recommend backing up and doing a hard reset. That way you avoid any version problems.

A most excellent suggestion... right after I gain access to the ability to actually back it up! At the moment, active sync will not back up the data.

try a trial copy of spritebackup or spb backup.

Also if you believe that file is really bad you can try to get it back out of the rom. what MIGHT work- first make a new file poutlook1.exe in the same directory. Now take that file and rename it poutlook.exe. that will overwrite the poutlook.exe that exists (since it's a rom file it actually doesn't get overwritten rather just gets replaced with the newer). check the dates and file size to be sure it took. Then you can delete poutlook.exe and it will recover the real file off the rom.

Either it didn't work, or I got the concept wrong. I tried making a new file in the same directory and renaming it to poutlook.exe, however in all instances access is denied. can't delete or overwrite the original in any way.

of course if I can't override it.... then trying to put in one I get from someone here is equally useless...

nope, poutlook.exe is not one of the processes currently running. Same with cprog.exe (the phone).

I've been troubleshooting it over on xda as well. She said I might that PIM.vol was a system level process that gets locked at startup and I would probably need to use Total Commander to get to it, so something tells me that poutlook.exe is in the exact same category.

I'll play with it tonight when I get home from work.
