How to add "Calendar" shortcut to Start pulldown menu
I'm sure there's an easy way to do it, but after the Windows software update, I don't have "calendar" on the Start pull down menu. I have to go to "Today" and then go to the Calendar on my Today screen.
How do I get it back? When I go to the Settings and Menus, there is not option to check for "Calendar". Surely there's another way, no?
Thanks for any help. I really don't like the extra step. It's certainly not an improvement that occurred with the update and I can't imagine why it went away as an option. Is everyone else's updated Saga the same way? I searched the threads but couldn't find the topic covered anywhere.
Once there, you can select what you want in your start menu. The maximum number of items you can have in the Start menu at any time is seven, so if it's already full, you'll need to uncheck something before you can check "Calendar".
If you really want to get to the Calendar in a jiffy, another option would be to assign the calendar program to a short press of the camera button on the right side (Start>Settings>Buttons).
Thanks for the reply spacehippie2k, but that doens't work. If you re-read my post, there is not a "calendar" option when I go to the settings>menus option. The options go from "Calculator" to "Camera". There is no "Calendar". I noticed this only after I received a replacement phone that had a newer version of Windows Mobile 6.1 (build 20961.1.5.1)
Thanks again for the reply though...I was beginning to lose faith in this forum. I think I've posted 3 different times and you're the 1st to respond to one.
(EDITED) Ok...your suggestion to change the camera button to go to the calendar seemed like a great workaround. Problem is, when I go to button assignments, SAME PROBLEM...no option for "calendar". I'm beginning to thing I have a corrupted version of windows.
nope. Doesn't show up there either. As far as I can tell, the ONLY way I'm able to see it is chosing to have it shown on the today screen. It's just so, so odd that it shows up as an option to display on the today screen but nowhere else. Very frustrating.

...
I have that same version of WM6.1. I think we all do who have the Maintenance Release applied.
anyway on my phone if I navigate to programs-> pocket outlook (its a folder) -> calendar then I'm all set. To add it to the menu- keep scrools in the list down past the c's to "pocket outlook" and again it will be a sub item.
Let us know if you find it there.
One time windows/I somehow corrupted my start menu and lost a folder too (I think I moved the whole folder to the pull down and it didn't like that)- i hard reset and it fixed it. You could probably manually fight it - read up and learn how to create your own shortcuts- but hard reset might be easiest if you have good backups and all the programs you want to install.
Thanks Michaelk...I really thought you had solved my problem, but alas, I don't have a "pocket outlook" folder to select either. I'm assuming it's a problem like you describe in your last paragraph...lost folder. Problem is, I haven't moved anything, at least intentionally, and a hard reset and restore with Sprite backup doesn't help. I guess I should look around after the hard reset and before the restore to see if it's there.
have you looked under \Windows for calendar.exe? (probably!) Thats where mine is and i dont have a pocket outlook folder...weird. If you see that...it's easy to make a shortcut (.ink) to your start menu.
