Have new Saga but can't get phone to light up (notify) when receiving texts?
Just bought a new Saga to replace my old Treo 750. I miss getting the phone to light up (notify) when I receive texts or after a voice mail is received? I called tech support and couldnt get an answer. Thanks!
try settings, sounds and notifications. I think in there if you tell it to put a message on the screen for those particular notifications it will turn the screen on to display it.

yes I tried that too several times. not sure???? thanks
I found this to be an annoyance when I first got my Saga. I knew it was possible, since my HTC Touch I had before the Saga did this when I got a text.
From the pokings around in the actual software, I could not find a way to do this.
What I ended up doing as a solution is installing S2U2 and turning on the text notifications. When a text comes in and S2U2 intercepts it, it turns on the screen and pops up the notification that it came in.
Settings, Sounds and notifications,
Use the drop down menu to select the event type. such as email or text
options are
play sound of your choice, display message on screen, and/or flash the light for x amount of time, and/or vibrate

True, however, that does not turn on the screen if the phone is not already on . It just displays a pop-up window you may or (most often) may not see when you turn on the phone.

Boooya...S2U2 does the trick. Finally...my screen lights up if I get a new text or email or appointment.
Thx a bunch. It's great for a keyguard too with the easy touch slide. No more hitting the top power button.
