Signal issues -just a thought

Haven't seen this in any other thread, what mode is your phone in? Mine is in global and i have had no issues. The phone was set that way after the update. Are folks with issues setting their mode to cdma only?

Just a random early thought, a question i haven't seen asked yet.

I put mine in Global mode. Signal seems a little better. I'll report back later today on how the battery lasts.

I did a soft reset after putting it into global mode. Of course it locked up again. Pulling the battery finally got it to boot up and not freeze.

I tried to put my phone in "Global Mode". After the pop up for Network Selection it shows a Network Error. Cannot register on selected Network..blah blah.

Am I the only one getting this?

I didn't notice any difference. Battery still didn't even last 12 hours before I'm getting low battery message...

There's some issue with trying to do it while you are connected to a cdma network already. I seem to recall you need to shut down the data connection and then swith modes.

no dice. Just tried that and got the same error. And the signal quality still blows.

guess you're the lucky winner- I've been in global mode since the day the MR came along- never had a problem.

Search some- I think someone posted in this forum what the issue was with a work around to get it to switch properly.

But if not- seems there's wild inconsistency so maybe worth calling support for a swap.

good luck

so today I was able to get it into global mode. Then because my signal was lacking it was trying to switch to GSM and GPRS? Then with this most annoying frequency it was givving errors for data connections. So much so I had to soft reset and get to the phone services to swap it back to CDMA only be fore it started looking for a data connection.

Next free night I get I think I will be calling Verizon for a swap.
