Question Phantom voicemail following soft reset

Following every soft reset of my saga, I end up with a "phantom" voicemail icon, as well as a notification that i have "one or more" voicemail messages. I've found that if I either receive a new message, or send one to myself, I can clear the icon by deleting the actual voicemail, but nothing else I do gets rid of it. This makes performing a soft reset a LONG process due to the startup time for SPD mobile shell, then taking the time to clear the icon (sure, I could leave it there, but I like my display iconless unless there's a good reason!)

If anyone has a fix, great. Otherwise, I'll live with it and be happy!

no idea how to stop it from happening. But i think you MIGHT be able to clean it up quicker just by calling into voicemail and then hitting * till it backs out of the menu and hangs up. At one point doing that would have the network send the 'no more voicemails' message to the phone. I've used that on other phones- luckily and knock on wood- haven't had any problems from the saga in that regard.

No dice on that one. I'm not sure why, but you have to actually create, then delete a vmail. It's especially annoying since the voicemail systems are ALMOST the same, but different enough that I really have to think about what network I'm on when I clear the icon.

no worries - You've been most helpful on these boards, and I really wasn't thinking I'd get an answer. Like most topics I've come across, it's 50% looking for a solution, and 50% venting!
