Hey Andrew

By default, CDMA data connections are not Suspend-and-Resume capable and therefore do not have a SuspendResume registry value

That will work on a GSM data packet phone.

Anyone else can help me?

I'm with jdgreger, this did NOT work for me. However, what I've done is just clear out the #777 and leave the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\
SuspendResume key completely blank (and I adjust the CacheTime as well). It's extended my battery life immeasuribly.

how strange... well that stinks that it doesn't seem to be working for you guys... I wonder why it seems to be working on my phone though.... :o

maybe it is because my mode of operation is set to "CDMA only" ?

It worked on mine when i tried it months ago. I found that it caused far more annoyances than battery life for me (waiting and the connecting popups, nothing bad - and you can get rid of those). Now if i was someone who checked my phone far less frequently, i could see where this would be damn handy.

Remembering to kill processes (browser!) and turning the backlight down had a much bigger effect for me. The batteries in this phone also seem to break-in after a couple weeks and they hold more charge. The suspended data session, provided nothing is checking online every few minutes while your phone sleeps, draws little power from what I've seen.

I think that blanking suspendresume out or adding something that's not a proper entry will have the same effect. I've had it both ways and the effect is the same. Without knowing what to suspend (the #777 data session) it won't suspend anything when the cachetimer time is reached; it will disconnect the data session in both cases. But these damn phones are so quirky, who knows? what works on one may not work on another...

i just never understood why they couldn't have something like this already built into the phone so people don't have to try and edit registry or download stuff to help with their phone's battery life seems like they would do everything to make sure this is already being done...

Exactly.

One thing I will add, about a week ago, my phone's battery (normally good for a full day, though definitely dying at the end of a long night) would last only about half the day. I looked, and there were open data connections for 4 hours each time. I have made NO configuration changes to my phone, and have been using the same software set for almost a year. Random...

Anywho, I blanked out the SuspendResume entry, and now it is 100% back to normal. As has been said before, these phones are quirky. Regardless, it's nice to have a phone that doesn't die at 4 pm every day.... (and I have the extended battery in!)

Can one of you guys write up exactly how you blanked out the send resume registries? I haven't messed with the registry on the phone at all yet but it may be worth a first time in order to improve battery life...

i use memmaid- it does a pile of things- one of which is a registry editor.

It's a pay program but it does have a free trial.

I've been using one called "PHM RegEdit". I believe it is freeware, but I don't remember off hand where I downloaded it from. It's pretty straight forward and easy to use.
