Figured I'd start a thread for the new features people are seeing after the update. Might be useful, since some of them are kind of hidden. This list should include unpleasant "features" (such as difficulties marking multiple new SMS messages as read), but let's try to keep this free of "my GPS isn't working, help!" kind of posts.
I'll start us off:
Unlocked GPS
Multiple new text messages must be "read" one at a time to mark them all as read (by opening and closing the thread for each new message)
Kinetic Finger Scrolling (in email/SMS message lists, prevents you from being able to drag and select multiple messages for deletion)
Text Messages Retry (works flawlessly for me, but others have been complaining)
Network Mode (CDMA/GSM) Switching without reboot
GUI SIM Unlock (no crazy ** dialing codes)
PIE update (despite horrific problems people are reporting)
Integrated Windows Live
Assignable Messaging/Music Buttons
Message Button now cycles between messaging accounts
Windows Update won't connect to the server (for me anyway, and not like it matters)
I think I discovered a new 'feature': ActiveSync seems to be more resilient and will restart itself after being shut down, even without reconnecting to a PC. Previously, killing it would keep it from running until you connect to a PC again. Not sure what is triggering it...
When you hit "Reply" to a new SMS from the notificaiton, you have to type a key before you can start typing your reply. The new SMS is automatically selected, and your first keystroke puts you into the actual text field. Annoying, becuase it didn't used to do this, so now a lot of my texts are missing the first letter.
When hitting send to dial a number, the phone vibrates briefly. I use this registry edit to stop it from beeping:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\DialingChange the value for the Sound string to *none*
But it still vibrates. With that registry key disabled, it beeps THEN vibrates.

Do you have the issue with missing keystrokes if you respond via the threaded txt messages?
the 2nd one is something i have not seen in my phone, nor heard of even before i dont think. Have you done any hard resets?
New PIE while being the closest to a desktop browser has some good and bad.
Noteable good:
renders sites very close to the real thing - runs NWS full loops (Yea)
Noteable not so good:
Lost the "compact" view mode, must scroll sideways
Broke Logmein
Invoking PIE causes the mouse to jump around without reason, doesn't seem to hurt anything, just bugs me.
Missing keystrokes happens ONLY if I hit the left softkey (Reply) for the SMS alert. Ignoring that alert and clicking on the thread does NOT do that (though the new message is still highlighted in light blue). Random.
I've done 2 hard resets, but only noticed it this time (which isn't to say it didn't happen before). I have a lot of third party software installed, so maybe I should take that off the "new feature" list (if no one else is seeing it).

there are 3 or 4 triggers.
Time change on the device.
Initiating a netwrok connection
initiating an r3232 connection.
You can use memmaid or an other OS notification editor to kill those. On the old firmware I killed all of them as I dont happen to use activesync for anything. But then when i tried to upate to the new firmware it was bad
So now I'm trying to figure out how to kill it for everything except when it connects by USB.
I think we are hosed though becasue I think USB mimics the network and not rs232. So you have to leave the network connection trigger. So anytime you go out of service and reconnect or start a new data session the POS will start back up.
SMS Timestamps Correct for messages recevied while phone was off/out of service. Previously, I'd turn my phone on in the morning, and drunk texts from my friends sent late at night would show the time of when I turned on the phone (like 7 am). Now, the times are correct.
I've noticed that sometimes after I use VZ Navigator and exit out of the program it will restart on it's own after a few minutes. I'm making sure to exit out and tap 'Yes' when it asks if I'm sure I want to quit, and then I'll look down a few minutes later and find it at the VZN home screen. I've even gone into the Task Manager and quit all running apps and still had VZN start up again!
I'm also getting pissed at having to go into a threaded SMS multiple times just to clear the 'new message' indicator for each new text in the thread. Would be nice to at least have a 'mark all as read option'!
Unless I'm missing something, it seems that now when the touch-pad is in "navigation mode" and editing a message, I can now jump between lines by swiping my thumb up or down. I don't remember this before being available in Windows Mobile (the one major annoyance coming from crackberry years ago).

i have experienced this very same VERY ANNOYING bug! anyone got a fix?
