Wanted to start a threat to note any tweaks that lead to enhanced battery life...
A couple I have always done:
-Start\Settings\Connections\Beam - uncheck "Received all incoming beams."
-Start\Settings\Personal\Input\Word Completion\ - uncheck "Suggest words when entering text"
-Start\Settings\Personal\Sounds & Notifications\Enable souds for - uncheck "Screen taps" & "Hardware buttons"

Do these work? Is there a significant improvement? Is there any risk?
I used them. The change in battery life was significant and I haven't noticed any ill effects. One person did note that these changes preclude you from using "check items as they arrive" on Activesync..
This disconnects for me only if I use task manager to end Activesync. I currently have activesync scheduled "as items arrive" during peak hours. The problem I have is once activesync syncs, it stays connected and never disconnects unless I manually end it.
My Moto Q would just only connect the activesync to download emails and then disconnect the broadband connection after.
Any suggestions other than changing the activesync to not be "as items arrive"?

Set it to every 5 minutes or something.. If you want it to be as they arrive, it need to be connected to know to connect to retrieve the mail. Unless you have some sort of psychic phone. I have activesync active in task manager always, but it releases the connection.
Does anyone know of a registry hack that could tell the phone radio to stop searching for a signal after x amount of minutes and not finding one? Kind of like the Wifi option. I work in a basement where it searches for signal all day and I always forget to turn the phone off. This kills my battery.
This should work on the Saga, no? I found a spec sheet that lists the Processor as "384 MHz MSM7500", which would fit the paramenters mentioned in the pocketnow article. At first, I thought this might be used to overclock the CPU, but that doesn't seem to be the case. However, it should, in theory, increase the battery life. Anyone feel like trying this one out?
