Asurion out of the i760

Don't break your phone right now boys and girls! Asurion is out of i760's. My i730 is dead and I called to file a claim and the had no i730's, and no i760's. They offered me a Treo 700Wx, I said I would consider what my options are and hope they get something in soon.

I know. I have one on backorder from them also. I am in no hurry to get it as I already have a 760 that works fine. The new one that is coming will be for sale as soon as I get it.

Will you post when you get yours in so I know when to call Asurion?

Has anyone gotten word from Asurion when the i760 will be back in stock?

Well I got mine last week but now I have to send it back because the display is jaked (sp?)... And as of yesterday they were still on back order... So I'll be reactivating my i730 while I await my replacement... They assured me I would be receiving a new i760 to replace my new i760... we will see

I was offered a 6800 and I took it. I hope I don't hate myself for the choice.

I lost my phone over a month ago, about a week after it was released online I lost it! Anyways, as I said on other posts, Asurion made me an offer. They told me to buy it from Verizon and fax them the receipt and they will refund the total price minus 50 dollars for the deductible. I have done so and they are processing it right now. I called about every day and was given that offer after a couple weeks.

I was connected to a higher level of customer service. I suggest you guys try this route.

That would have been an option if the phone was in stock.

My I730 has been on the fritz for a while, I finally broke down a week ago and filed my claim. It was out of stock (duh), got an automated call every other day telling me they didn't have it in stock. Yesterday they called, got one in stock. It arrived today (DHL overnight). You dont need to wait for them to be in stock to file a claim.

I wonder if they got a few in stock and then ran out. I talked to them yesterday and they showed none in stock.

Still shows out of stock on the Verizon page. I know that is a different deal, but just a point of interest.

Just spoke with them due to a broken i730. They said they have more of the i730's in stock. He wouldn't tell me if they had any i760s because that was not the phone I had. Not sure why.

Well Dan... I'm sure you'll find something wrong with it, (wink, wink) and have to get a i760 ...

No way, they are just on back order until further notice. It sounds like some parts of the country are getting them back in stock. I think Big Red under estimated the demand for a device that does not suck!

Well, I must be happy with my choice. They are the ones with the "Worry Free Guarantee".

wow, people on verizon actually bother paying for Asurion...who knew

and here I was thinking that Verizion offering to replace your phone for free out of courtisy was a better option.

It depends on the reason for the replacement. A new phone from asurion is warrantied through verizon like a new phone. If you do something like throw it against the wall or leave it on top of your car $50 bucks to asurion (and yes $5 a month) will get you back in the game. I may pay out more over time, but the point is I don't sit with an extra $300-$500 in my tech toy account. It has worked great for me over the years. I started with a Thera, it was replaced by an i700, that was replaced by an i730 now that by a 6800. Not too bad. I still have my NE2 coming around the corner for a cheep back up phone too.
